Valentine's Day 2016 in West Hampstead

Whether you want to do something a bit different this Valentine's or you just don't fancy traipsing into town for an overpriced meal, share the love with West Hampstead this weekend when you celebrate Valentine's Day with the best restaurants and shops in London town.

Bake-a-boo

Share your love for Bake-a-boo one last time before it closes later this year (sob). For a reasonable £24 you’ll be treated to an afternoon tea feast with finger sandwiches, scones, red velvet cupcakes, passion fruit cake slices, heart vanilla cookies, heart shaped brownies, chocolate dipped strawberries and marshmallows, old fashioned sweeties and a big pot of tea. All served by candlelight with scattered rose petals on the table of course.

As usual there’s a gluten free and a vegan option available too. Just remember to mention this when you book.

When: Friday 12th February, Saturday 13th February, Sunday 14th February
Where: Bake-a-boo, 86 Mill Lane, West Hampstead
Price: From £24
Enquiries: enquiries@bake-a-boo.com / 020 7435 1666

El Rocio

West Hampstead’s very own tapas bar and restaurant have a few options available as part of a special Valentine’s Day menu over the weekend. Those looking to keep it classic can enjoy oysters and champagne, whilst those looking for something a little more substantial should go for the three course meal. Tapas options are also available for those looking to share…

When: Friday 12th February, Saturday 13th February, Sunday 14th February
Where: El Rocio, 268 West End Lane, West Hampstead
Price: £10.95 (three oysters and a glass of champagne)
Enquiries: 020 7435 8164

The Petite Coree

Our favourite fusion restaurant is offering a special Valentine’s Day menu (and a veggie one too) this year for £40 including a glass of prosecco. Start with a butternut squash veloute amuse bouche followed by kimchi pancake, bass with a fennel and blood orange salad (gnocchi for the veggies), beef fillet (mushroom and miso risotto on the vegetarian menu) and chocolate fondant for dessert.

When: Saturday 13th February, Sunday 14th February
Where: The Petite Coree, 98 West End Lane, West Hampstead
Price: £40 plus drinks
Enquiries: thepetitecoree@hotmail.com / 020 7624 9209

Mill Lane Bistro

Dinner starts with a glass of something sparkling and nibbles with a choice of three starters, four mains and three desserts to follow. We like the sound of the grilled tiger prawns, vegetarian mille-feuilles and the winter fruits pavlova.

If you’re thinking about turning the night into a very special occasion, make sure you mention when booking if you’re planning a proposal so they can have champagne at the ready!

When: Friday 12th February, Saturday 13th February, Sunday 14th February
Where: Mill Lane Bistro, 77 Mill Lane, West Hampstead
Price: £45 plus drinks
Enquiries: 0207 794 5577

Hampstead Butcher

If you’re looking to hibernate this Valentine’s Day that doesn’t mean you have to suffer. The Hampstead Butcher has a few specials available for those looking to stay in this weekend; we like the sound of the heart-shaped rump steak or the beef wellington for two.

The butcher is rarely the place to pick up a romantic gift but those in a last minute bind could do a lot worse than picking up the rib eye steak, Malbec and chocolate gift box for their partner. Alternatively the caviar and champagne hamper would be another excellent choice.

When: Before Valentine’s Day
Where: The Hampstead Butcher, 244 West End Lane, London
Price: Varies
Enquiries: 020 7794 9210
