Property Ownership
If you intend to buy property jointly with one or more others, you need to know that there are two ways in which you can hold the property. We explain this in more detail in a separate Note. It is important for us to know whether any other person over the age of 17 years will be living with you, or will contribute to the purchase price.
We can advise you on the consequences of such contribution, and if required record the legal position. If you are purchasing with a mortgage, such persons must sign a document which consents to the mortgage, and enables the mortgage to proceed.
Also in this case, we have to advise the person or persons required to
sign the lender's form of consent to obtain independent legal advice, if
they so wish.
