Lucy's Easter Holiday Planning

School holidays – for teachers, they revel in the fact that they do not need to rush their children out the door at the crack of dawn and they can arrange days and nights out knowing that there is no evening marking or lesson planning to do. For working parents, that are not teachers, it is a whole different story!

Those parents, like myself, want to maintain a balance of taking some days off to enjoy quality time with the children but also have the option to send them to a day activity camp if required. As a mother of two, I am constantly looking to see what is coming up over the holidays and wanted to share my findings with you:

The O2 Centre, Finchley Road

With it being Easter, there are various Easter egg hunts taking place. One which is just a stone’s throw away from our office is at the O2 Centre.

This will be running Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th April, and also Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st April between 11am-3pm.

There will be an event space outside Waterstones. The activity is free of charge but they would appreciate a small charity donation towards this event.

Also before or after the children have found and eaten all their eggs, Yo Sushi are offering to feed your kids for free running from now to 28th April. Full details are at:  yosushi.com/kidseatfree

Fenton House and Garden, Hampstead

Between the 14th -17th April, Fenton House and Gardens are holding Easter Egg trails from 10am-5pm.

This looks like a really fun event for all the family and gives you the opportunity to not only get a Cadbury’s chocolate bunny once you have completed the trail but check out the gorgeous walled garden and the house itself.

All the prices and more information for this event are at the following link - https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/fenton-house-and-garden/features/cadbury-egg-hunt-at-fenton-house

Arts Depot, North Finchley

If your children like to watch a show, then I would highly recommend the Arts Depot centre which is only 20 mins drive away from our office. I regularly visit this center and have seen some really good children shows. Coming up over the Easter holidays, there are a number of shows:

Elmer the Patchwork Elephant Show – 6th-10th April

Muckers – 28th April

The Puppet Theatre Barge: Little Venice, London, W9

For a different kind of children’s show, you can head down to the puppet theatre barge and watch a man who puts on a shadow puppet show. This is suitable for children aged 2-8 years old and is on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th April.

Further details and how to book can be found at http://www.puppetbarge.com/Controllers/whatson.php

As always, if the weather is good, then the kids are very happy to visit the various playgrounds and parks that we are lucky to have around the area!

We would love to hear from you. Click here to let us know what you think!
