Mother's Day Gift Guide

We’re huge advocates of shopping (and eating!) local. Thankfully we’re spoilt in West Hampstead with a range of amazing independent shops that stock thoughtful and considerate gifts.

So from food based pressies to special keepsakes, here’s our ultimate guide to shopping for Mum on your doorstep this Mother’s Day.

Something quirky from the Sherriff Centre

For those who like quirky things the Sherriff Centre have a great line by Temerity Jane including carnival style lights, a very cute teapot, mugs and milk jug, and a variety of storage jars.

For something a bit more fun try the Happy Jackson range of notebooks, and if it’s cute and classic you’re going for they have a really sweet line of little purses and umbrellas. Or, if it’s traditional toiletries you’re after, they also stock a range of Neal’s Yard products plus candles and reed diffusers.

Something crafty from The Village Haberdashery: Now re-opened in West Hampstead Square!

Give the gift of craft with a ‘Sew a Tote Bag’ lesson from The Village Haberdashery. Perfect for first-time sewers, over the course of three hours mum will learn to sew a simple tote bag. Intermediate sewers may prefer ‘Learn to Make a Quilt’ or the challenging ‘Sew a Victoria Blazer’.

Something sweet from Cocoa Bijoux

Treat your mum to a box of 16 handcrafted chocolates and truffles. Choose from Cointreau, pistachio marzipan and hazelnut gianduja to name just a few, or ask for a mixed random selection so she can try one of each.

Something for the home from The Home Emporium

New to the block, Home Emporium is a beautiful French chic ‘country style’ interiors shop in Broadhurst Gardens. They stock a variety of interesting products including beautiful vintage pieces and home décor items.

We reckon the elegant Mathilde diffuser set, handmade in France, is a sure Mother’s Day gift winner. The ceramic rose is very unique and the size of the petals allows optimum diffusion of the fragrance. The Home Emporium have six different fragrances in store to choose from and refills are also available.

Something made with love from the Hampstead Butcher

Give the gift of time this Mother’s Day by cooking your mum a roast for you both this Mother’s Day. If it’s the sentiment you’re after but your cooking skills aren’t up to scratch, pick a joint from the Hampstead Butcher counter and they’ll cook it to your preference – and deliver it straight to your table.

We would love to hear from you. Click here to let us know what you think!
