What kind of vibe does Cricklewood have?
Cricklewood has a vibrant, bustling vibe. It's unique in that it almost feels like the centre of North West London. Going from Wembley to Willesden, or Kilburn to Kingsbury, you almost always go through Cricklewood, making it an ideal spot for anyone after the convenience of London life. As busy as it is, the back roads still very much offer quiet residential living with a strong sense of community. With Cricklewood, you quite literally get the best of both worlds.
Where can I grab a morning coffee?
If you're after an independent coffee shop with unique, flavourful roasts, make your way to Cricklewood Coffee Roasters. If you prefer the warm familiarity of a community café, where you're greeted with a smile and a "the usual?", La Esquina is your spot. Don't miss their locals' favourite — a cappuccino paired with their delicious Spanish omelette.
Give me three spots to go for dinner
Cricklewood offers a blend of cultures like no other. So if you're a foodie looking to extend their tastebuds to an array of unique, cultural dishes - Cricklewood is your place. Head to Demi's to try a Jollof Rice plate and finish with an Oreo puff puff. An Oreo covered in batter and deep fried? What more could you want?
If you've been persuaded with Persian, take a walk down to Signature Persion Kitchen & Bar. Think Mezze platters, grilled meats and, of course, a side of hummus.
And last, but certainly not least, if a pasta dish paired with a cocktail is on the cards - Elementree is perfect for a candlelit, hearty, italian meal.
How would you spend a Saturday in Cricklewood?
Start off with a morning coffee and breaky from La Esquina and then make a decision on which North West Area I'd want to explore. You could head up to Brent Cross Shopping Centre for a bit of retail therapy. Take a walk to West Hampstead to enjoy the farmers market or simply enjoy the greenery of Cricklewood millennial Green. In the evening I'd probably head to The Crown pub for a drink, it has quite the history - it's well worth looking up!
Where is the best place to be if you want to be outdoors?
There's so many to choose from. Cricklewood Millennial Park has wide open green spaces so it's perfect for a dog walk. You could head down to Gladstone Park which is huge, if you're looking for a morning run spot, you should check it out. If you're looking for a quiet retreat to sit, have a coffee and admire flowers - Mapesbury Dell Park is perfect
Are there any hidden gems?
The Bingo! Perfect for a quick games night and to socialise with the locals. Plus a carribean lady runs the food there so if you're a fan of soul food - you've got to try it!
