West Hampstead Wrapped: What Residents Loved Most in 2025

As we wrap up 2025, we’ve taken a look back at one of the most insightful parts of our year: the stories our renters shared with us.

Every time a resident moves out, we ask them about their home and, just as importantly, about the neighbourhood they’ve called home. Hundreds of these little snapshots have landed in our inbox this year,  honest reflections, favourite spots, surprising loves, tiny details, and long-running rituals.

So, to round off the year, we’ve gathered their words, their highlights, and their best-kept local secrets to paint a real picture of what life in West Hampstead looked like in 2025.

Why people choose West Hampstead

Ask anyone who’s lived here what they loved most and you’ll hear the same thing: life in West Hampstead is easy, lively, and almost suspiciously village-like for Zone 2.

“West Hampstead has everything we need, it’s almost a mini village. At the weekend you only have to leave if you want to.” — Resident, Sandwell Mansions

Renters kept coming back to just how “super well connected” it is, with the Jubilee line, Overground and Thameslink all just minutes away, meaning central London is on your doorstep — but so is everything else that makes life good.

“It’s a great location, intimate and friendly with a buzzy vibe, and super well connected for walking or transport.” — Maureen, Mill Lane

And just as often, people talked about West End Lane as a high street that actually delivers:

“West End Lane is the best High Street in London. It has everything you want — wine bars, pubs, restaurants, cafés….” — Tobias, Inglewood Road

From Waitrose and grocery top-ups to wine bars, cafés and proudly local spots you end up calling “ours” without realising, West End Lane is one of those rare high streets that naturally becomes part of your day.

Where people are visiting in West Hampstead

One of the joys of reading through over a year’s worth of feedback was seeing where everyone goes in their day-to-day life. It’s like a little window into how our locals are living and what they’re loving about the community,  the places that shaped their days, the cafés that became their local, and the restaurants that hosted many a Friday night

So, which spots came up time and time again? Let’s take a look.

West Hampstead Coffee & Bakeries

With so many young working professionals in the neighbourhood, it’s no wonder caffeine calls early , and regularly. Luckily, West Hampstead is not short of good coffee.

“So many good coffee shops including Loft, Wired and Liten. — Resident, Compayne Gardens

West Hampstead Restaurants

From candlelit, jazzy evenings at Wet Fish Café to the downright moreish crispy rice at Kiyoto Sushi, West Hampstead is full of places people fall in love with. Whether it’s a catch-up with friends, a quick lunch stop, or the butterflies of a first date, our renters have uncovered the best of the best of the best.

Hidden Gems in West Hampstead

And then there are the little local gems,  the spots that might slip through the cracks but mean a lot to the people who know them best.

Art 4 Fun was a really fun pottery place… really affordable as well.” — Resident, Iverson Road
